The Curriculum




Curriculum vision:

    The Youth Achieve curriculum emphasizes exposure to real life scenarios that build life skills and enable participants to pursue postgraduate employment or higher education.

Program Description:

    Throughout the course of the Youth Achieve program, participants will visit local universities and community colleges, gain exposure to cultural events, hone academic skills, network with young professionals and participate in job fairs.

Introductions and icebreakers

Session 2
Letter writing exercise "what can I get for free?"

Session 3
Internet scavenger hunt

Session 4
A trip to the music studio with local rap artist Incwell

Session 5
A trip to the FBI

Session 6
A trip to the University of Maryland
Along with participating in a tour of the campus students have the opportunity to sit in on a college level class

Session 7
Resume Workshop

Session 8
Local business job fair
