Annual Scholarship Fundraiser
January 16, 2009: The 2009 Youth Achieve annual scholarship fundraiser will help send a disadvantaged young person from the Washington Metropolitan area to college.

Recent Accomplishments by Youth Achieve
- Mentored and tutored over 40 youth
- Collaborated with several non-profits, including the National Center for Children and Families and the FutureBound Independent Living Program
- Raised over $500 participating in the annual Walk for the Homeless in Washington, D.C.
- Facilitated a trip to Avalon Studios in which our youths recorded with a local area rap group, the SDS Boys.

Today, over 600,000 families and 1.35 million children are homeless. On average, low-income children and children from historically disadvantaged groups have less than a fifty percent chance of graduating from high school.
These shocking statistics translate into an extremely critical challenge that the next generation of Americans will have to confront.
Together, Youth Achieve volunteers and area young people work to develop skills that will ultimately enable program graduates to move forward with their postsecondary education and professional careers.
